    About Us

Are you ready for a Summer Swim Team?

We’re the Mountain Creek Dolphins, a Cobb County neighborhood summer swim team that focuses on FUN!

Summer Swim Team is a great way to introduce young children to the SPORT of swimming in an engaging way. Our coaches focus on teaching our swimmers the basics of the sport. Our Summer Swim Team has been the starting point for many competitive swimmers because of the confidence they build at practices and meets.

Our number one goal is to make swimming enjoyable for your child so that they will want to come back every day!

The Mountain Creek Dolphins swim team is comprised of:
    • Junior Dolphins (3 & 4 yos, some 5-yos, Non-Competitive) - Don't need to have the following requirements.
    • Competitive Dolphins (age group levels 5-18yo) - With the understanding that Summer Swim Team is not a Learn-To-Swim program, below are two the general requirements…floating and kicking.
      1. Floating: Your child doesn’t need to know how to do all the strokes or a whole length underwater. Coaches of summer swim team look to make sure that swimmers can float on their own so that they can make it to the other side of the pool once we start teaching the strokes. If your child is comfortable in the water on their own and can use goggles to search for the diving rings you threw, they’re already showing signs they can be on a summer swim team.
      2. Kicking: One of the most important skills a swimmer needs is to have a good kick. Test to see if your child can grab onto the wall and kick their legs. Can they put their face in the water and blow some bubbles while they’re kicking? If the answer is yes, they may have all the skills needed for a summer swim team!  Your child doesn’t need to show that they can kick from one end to the other…we’ll work on that during practice. Coaches want to see a child comfortable putting their face in the water and desire to swim a lap. During each practice, children improve very fast by watching others and by doing the simple drills given.

Our swim practices focus on developing swimmers' technique so they can swim more efficiently. We do LOTS of drills and other fun technique activities to get the kids comfortable in the water. We teach swimmers all the strokes, how to use kickboards, how to dive properly, and how to streamline. Our team is a low commitment sport and a morning event, making it perfect for a summer activity! If the above sounds like something your swimmer will enjoy, then…
